This is a ticket copied from which describes the remaining work (refactor sensors.go & tests) which was not completed due to orbslam being deprioritized.

Acceptance Criteria:

Refactor the tests so they are specific to orbslam and cover all functions well. Consider moving tests to other areas (e.g., slam/sensors) if it makes sense.
